Why We’re Here: The Story Behind Dancing with Dom

Some stories begin with an idea.
Ours began with a person.

Dom Boyle loved music, dance, and moments where the world felt lighter. He found joy on dancefloors, in sound systems, and in spaces where it was okay to be different. He also struggled with his mental health, and often felt like he didn’t quite belong on this planet.

When Dom died in 2023, it left a vast and painful silence. Like so many families touched by suicide, we were left holding grief alongside questions — about belonging, about support, and about what might help someone stay.

The Dancing with Dom Foundation was created in memory of Dom, and in response to that silence. It exists to turn loss into movement, and grief into care. Through wellbeing grants, community gatherings, and creative spaces rooted in music and connection, we aim to support mental health and reduce suicide rates — gently, humanly, and without judgement.

This is not about fixing people.
It’s about meeting them where they are.

Dancing with Dom is a reminder that joy and pain can coexist, that connection matters, and that feeling different does not mean you are broken. It is an invitation — to move, to belong, and to stay.
