Why Music and Movement Matter for Mental Wellbeing
Sometimes words can’t reach what we’re carrying.
Music and movement offer another way in. They bypass logic, soften the nervous system, and reconnect us with our bodies — especially when emotions feel tangled or overwhelming.
Dom understood this instinctively. Music wasn’t just something he enjoyed; it was something he felt. Dancefloors, rhythms, and shared sound created moments where connection replaced isolation, even briefly.
Research continues to show what many of us already know: movement helps regulate stress, music supports emotional expression, and shared experiences reduce loneliness. But beyond the science, there’s something deeply human about moving together.
That’s why our Earth Gatherings are rooted in music and movement, and why they are always drug- and alcohol-free. These are spaces where people can feel safe, present, and grounded — without pressure, expectation, or escape.
Joy is not a luxury.
Connection is not frivolous.
Movement can be medicine.
This is how we honour Dom — by creating spaces where people can feel alive, held, and welcome in their own bodies.
